Marie-Antoinette
300 works dedicated to France most notorious queen.
The Grand Palais provides a fascinating exhibition into Marie Antoinette’s complex personality through this exhibition of works from all over Europe.
Marie-Antoinette is France’s most notorious queen. She was adulated on her arrival in Versailles, where her beauty, vivacity and intelligence were widely admired. Worried by her popularity, courtiers at Versailles attempted to limit her political influence. But the young queen was destined to make an impact. Marie-Antoinette soon became known as a patron of the arts.
She brought about changes at Versailles in the realms of decorative arts, music and fashion. However, her extravagance came in for sharp criticism. The young queen was dismissed as “the Austrian” and considered a spendthrift, a schemer and a counter-revolutionary. Admiration, hate, jealousy and high drama all form part of her story, which has retained people’s interest down the ages.

Mika
New kid on the charts
Having given sold-out concerts at the Olympia and the Zénith lasy year, Mika, the new prince of pop, is going one step further with a concert at the Parc des Princes, one of the biggest venue in Paris...
Lebanese-born Mica Penniman (born 18 August 1983) drew inspiration from British culture, to which he has been exposed since the age of nine, to come up with a bright, bouncy debut album called “Life in cartoon motion”, which has since become essential listening.
He will be performing some of his top hits including “Grace Kelly”, "Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)", "Love Today" and “Relax (Take it easy)”, the song that’s on everyone’s lips. Light effects and Mika’s peppy 1980s-90s sound should make this a feel-good evening.

The French Open
Roland Garros Tennis Tournament
The Roland-Garros tennis tournament in the spring is the world mecca of ground tennis, it is one of the key ATP competitions with Flushing Meadows, Wimbledon and Melbourne.
It was here that great players such as Borg, Graf, Wilander, Lendl, Kuerten and Nadal made their debut and here that spectators experienced some of the most exciting and spectacular matches in tennis history.
Clay courts slow the ball down and produce a high bounce when compared to grass and synthetic courts. As such, over the years, clay court specialists have evolved who often succeed here whilst higher ranked players may struggle. Fourteen-time major-champion Pete Sampras and current World No. 1 Roger Federer have won every other Grand Slam tournament several times, but never the French Open.
One of the highly selective foursome of Grand Slam tournaments...
