From 17/10/2018 to 25/02/2019
Cubism is an art movement that is often misunderstood by many. People think of the work of Picasso, with his boxy shapes and distorted figures. But, they rarely think outside of this narrow circle.
The Cubism movement was far broader. Many artists from across Europe explored the themes and means of expression in different mediums. Figures such as Duchamp, Laurent and Picabia all took to this new form with great results.
The Cubism exhibition at the Centre Pompidou gives visitors the chance to take a more in-depth look at these different artists and creations. There are some large, striking canvases from some of the greatest leaders of the movement, as well as beautiful sculptures.
This is a great chance to learn more about Cubism, but there isn’t long time left. Head over the gallery before the show leaves town on the 25th of February. This is a show not to be missed.
